Experiencia fantástica: Thankyou for this two day excursion where we werer treated to the best that Lisburn (Lisboa) had to offer but most of all more places that we could have hoped for, due to hills and cobbled streets and steep hills. Having been before I was shocked by what we could now see with our guides and vehicle. Our first day was with Pedro, a knowledgeable photographer, who took us to some very high, narrow and basically inaccessible spots for wheelchairs as well as visits to churches and most importantly the famous custard tart factory(Delicious) were he managed to time our arrival between large queues( lucky I guess). Our second day was with Sergio who continued the tour of the old town but added in trips to some beautiful beaches and the "Sanctuary of Christ the King" Two excellent guides who were very knowledgeable about all thinks Portuguese and a vehicle that allowed the wheelchair user to be part of the group and not stuck in the back

Experiencia fantástica: My family and I were traveling to Europe. We used Disabled Accessible Travel for 2 days in Barcelona. Mirjam scheduled the tours for us The communication was perfect. Every point was explained and any changes quickly informed. During the first City Highlights tour, a half marathon prevented us from seeing the Olympic Stadium. Mirjam was very helpful and ensured that it would be added to our day 2 trip to Montserrat so we missed nothing. Cesar and Carlos were very friendly and knowledgeable. Tony our driver on both days was very helpful getting me in and out of the vehicle. I will definitely use Disabled Access Travel again on other trips.

Experiencia fantástica: Mirjam at Disabled Accessible Travel was able to arrange a tour for me that the many other accessible travel companies I contacted told me was not possible. I had always wanted to visit Gibraltar and MIrjam helped me make that dream come true! She suggested a wonderful hotel with an accessible room: The Rock Hotel. People there were lovely and both the room and restaurant were excellent. Then Mirjam arranged a 3 hour tour of Gibraltar with a lovely man named Douglas. He was very willing to assist me with my mobility scooter and made sure I saw all the sites that were accessible to me. Douglas showed me the rest of Gibraltar as a driving tour, while telling me both historical and current information about the area. I had a terrific time thanks to Mirjam and the tour she arranged!

Without her support, the trip would have been VERY daunting. Just finding accessible cafes and restrooms during the tours would have been a big problem without her guides! Experiencia fantástica: Mirjam Versteeg proved to be a fantastic resource person in my efforts to search for a tour of Alhambra that could fit my family's needs in view of our inability to walk for more than a few minutes at any time. At very short notice, she identified the local company in Malaga that came up with our guide, Eduardo. We could not have hoped for a better guide. Eduardo was kind, considerate and helpful throughout our tour, including assisting us with our mobility scooters, which at times were awkward to steer through the heavy crowds and around some sharp and narrow corners. He explained vividly the richly tapestried history of Alhambra and made our overall experience altogether delightful. All kudos to Mirjam for making the right connections, her superb efficiency in taking care of the administrative minutiae, and her pleasant manner of interactions. Thanks to Mirjam and her team, the trip was a great success. The guides were great, especially Claudia in Rome—she was so knowledgeable and was able to politely part the crowds to get my mother close-up access to the art on the Vatican tour—my mom loved her. Experiencia fantástica: I recently visited Barcelona with the assistance of Mirjam Versteegh. She helped my parents and I schedule two fantastic tours! We stayed at an apartment complex for the disabled named MIC Sant Jordi. it is right outside an accessible Subway and bus stop, and has several nearby cafés. The subway is only 10 minutes into the heart of the city where I connected with the train that took me to the beach town of Badalona, and another day to Antoni Gaudi’s town of Colonía Guell. My two favorite sites—which Mirjam helped me get a tour of—were Gaudi’s awe-inspiring Sagrada Familia and the detailed, historic architecture of the gothic quarter. Thanks Disabled Access Travel!

Experiencia fantástica: Our excursion in Rome was awesome!! Our guide, Iliara, was so great. I can't say enough good things about her. She and the driver dropped us off at the Vatican Museum entrance and gave us directions about what to do and when to meet back. It was a little tricky, but we found the Sistine chapel and then bolted over to see St. Peter's in time. Thank goodness we got to go to the front of the LINE!! Then they took us over to the Colosseum and we met up with the guide there. She was great too (I can't remember her name). When we met back with Iliara, she had done some research and they drove us by the back of the Forum, just so we could snap a picture of the mamertine prison because I had mentioned it. Then we stopped at Trevi fountain where Iliara told us where to get pizza and gelato. So great! Then we ended at the Spanish steps where Iliara found us an accessible bathroom. Thank you so much for setting this all up. It was worth the price!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: We were so grateful to Mirjam at Disabled Accessible Travel for helping design a wonderful 6-hour excursion for our cruise port day in Catania, Sicily. We were met by a knowledgeable and entertaining guide/driver (and boy, do you need to be a great driver to get us up and back down from 6000' up Mount Etna in the clouds and fog!). He took us around the island to share stories about the geology and history of the area. We then went to Vini Gambino, a winery that is accessible and serves a fantastic wine tasting and "heavy noshing" food accompaniment. Not only was this lunchtime event one of our favorite experiences of the trip, it was also an outstanding value for what we got! I can't thank Mirjam and DAT enough for knowing their customers, knowing their locations, and being able to pull together a path to great memories! Mirjam was responsive, creative, proactive, and even helped give some great tips on what to do in Barcelona where we started our cruise!
